Notes on Common LED Strip End Connection Identification

An analog RGB(W) strip generally has a pad for (+) DC voltage and a pad for each color on the strip. Brightness is set by the controllers PWM capability. The strip shown below shows the end connections for a 12V DC analog RGBW strip:

An individually addressable RGB(W) strip generally has a pad for (+) DC voltage and GROUND and a pad (Din) for serial data in to control the color and brightness. The strip shown below shows the end connections for a 12V DC individually addressable RGBW strip:

A single color LED strip generally has a pad for (+) DC voltage and (-) or GROUND. Brightness is set by the controller’s PWM capability. The strip shown below shows the end connections for a 12V DC white (single color) strip:
